Hello. My name is Emily, and in seven years I will be an alcoholic. Well not really considering I may be there already. J/K; although I do love vodka (Stoli) amongst other alcoholic beverages. Seriously, my name really is Emily, but there are a plethora of names by which I go. Emily. Ava. Supe. Miss Supe. The Supe. Nels. Emmo. I think that is pretty much all of them. Beside that, I love sports. Pittsburgh Peguins. Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh Pirates. Yes, that means I would watch a Pens game over a Steeler game any day. I am a huge gymnastics fan, considering it was part of my life for 20 years. Did I mention I play dek hockey? If not, I do. I love the fall.shoes.dresses.crosswrod puzzles.traveling.reading. My favorite book is 'Catcher in the Rye.' I hate phonies; get away from me, thanks. I also hate people in my personal space, even my boyfriend, don't worry it is not just you. I love nerds.chocolate covered gummi bears. I think that is all you need to know at the moment. O yeah, one more thing; I do not trust people who do not drink.

Night with Nemesis: Round 2.

if you know me at all, you know that i love the 1950s.  you know the all-american average family, pretty much the 'leave it to beaver' or 'i love lucy' days.  not only their clothes and style intrigue me, but the way of life as well.  everything seemed so simple, no cell phones, no internet/computers.  before TVs became popular,  most people listened to the radio, whether it was music, a variety show, or sports, this is what people did.  (or at least this what i gather from tv show re-runs).
anywho, just not too long ago i felt like i literally lived in the '50s.

i have issues with being hot.  i know that statement can be taken several ways(lol), but i mean temperature hot, not from a physical standpoint.  i hate those hot, humid, muggy days that we have here in the 'Burgh, and it absolutely drives me nuts.  but, do you know what i hate worse than those hot, humid, muggy days?  those kind of days, minus the air conditioning.  o my my, it is horrible.  anyway, nemesis does not have central AC, which makes for rough nights(for me anyway).  i always complain how hot i am to him, and at this point i am pretty sure he is sick and tired of it.  o well.  but one night, it was humid and muggy the windows were open.  i was sitting at the kitchen table dicing vegtables while listening to the buccos game on the radio.  (nemesis does not have a thousand channels, so we have to listen to sporting events.)  usually in this situation, i would be complaining about the tempeatures, the sweating , my bad hair, but something that night was peaceful and calming to me.  i stopped dicing, and just sat there and thought.  wow, i feel like i live back in the day.  no a/c, no tv, listening to a sporting event on the radio, windows open, this is actually really great.  for once, i was satistied without having all the modern amenities. it was a good feeling.

sometimes people get so caught up in their modern amenities that they miss the human aspect of life.  at nemesis' house, we can't sit there an watch tons of tv.  so we talk, listen to music, play board games (yahtzee and othello are the favorites) as if we lived back in the day.  sure we couldn't live our entire lives without modern technology, but sometimes it is necessary.  it makes for a better, stronger relationship in the long run.

o and P.S. nemesis- remember that night in the kitchen, i wrote something on paper, folded it up, and put it away?  you kept bugging me about what i was doing?  and/or what was the paper?  now you have it.  well, part of it.  and see, it really didn't involve you!
