Hello. My name is Emily, and in seven years I will be an alcoholic. Well not really considering I may be there already. J/K; although I do love vodka (Stoli) amongst other alcoholic beverages. Seriously, my name really is Emily, but there are a plethora of names by which I go. Emily. Ava. Supe. Miss Supe. The Supe. Nels. Emmo. I think that is pretty much all of them. Beside that, I love sports. Pittsburgh Peguins. Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh Pirates. Yes, that means I would watch a Pens game over a Steeler game any day. I am a huge gymnastics fan, considering it was part of my life for 20 years. Did I mention I play dek hockey? If not, I do. I love the fall.shoes.dresses.crosswrod puzzles.traveling.reading. My favorite book is 'Catcher in the Rye.' I hate phonies; get away from me, thanks. I also hate people in my personal space, even my boyfriend, don't worry it is not just you. I love nerds.chocolate covered gummi bears. I think that is all you need to know at the moment. O yeah, one more thing; I do not trust people who do not drink.

The apple doesn't fall from the tree

A litte kindness goes a long way. Isn't that the truth? How many times have we heard this, but do not practice kindness? Granted, we all have our moments, and maybe the story below is this guy's moment, but I am 90 percent sure that this wasn't his first time around the block. For those of you that know, I do quality assurance work for FedEx. Obviously, the holiday season is the busiest of time of year where we process 150,000 plus packages a day. Like anything there are always pros and cons. Well, you can see the con in this situation. Yes, we process huge amounts of product, BUT yes, product is lost and product can be damaged. What can you do? Nothing, nobody, not any company any facility is perfect. NOBODY. All one can do is take responsibility for the mistake and correct it. Well, I received a call this morning from a consumer who ordered his kids' Christmas presents from Kohl's online a week before Christmas. I understand the entire phenomenon of online purchasing, it does create job security for me , but to order your kids' Christmas presents online, really? May be I am wrong, but if I had little kids I would 100% make sure I had their presents wrapped and ready to go at least a week before Christmas. Anyway, this gentleman, or lack thereof gentleman, called this morning complaining he did not receive his order. As I started to ask questions he began screaming at me. Needless to say, he was not very happy FedEx lost his purchase; I could not get a word in to even begin to help him because of his antics. As I tried to explain the situation and help him he says, "I hope your Christmas is as sucky as mine." My response, "That's mature." Really? Did this guy really say that to me, and then end the conversation with "God Bless you." Really? People never cease to amaze me. People do not realize anger and hostility are not going to get you far in life. Guess what? If this gentleman kindly explained his situation in a mature way to me, I certainly would have went out of my way to help him. I do not have patience for his inability to be kind. Now, not only does he not have his order, he also is out his money, and to top it off he is not getting his order re-shipped. This is all could have resolved IF he was kind. I can only hope that this gentleman come to his senses for his kids' sake. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, unless it is on a hill.
